Tracheostomy Care
Tracheostomy is a surgical procedure to create an opening in the neck for direct access to the trachea (the breathing tube). Tracheostomy is performed for better airway management and to prevent few neurological and respiratory related complications. At Ucchvas rehabilitation center, we provide both percutaneous and operative tracheostomy care for patients already on the tracheostomy tube. Taking immense care of patients who need long-term airway support through a tracheostomy tube, needs expertise. At Ucchvas every minute detail is kept in mind while taking up such intense care.

- ▪ Daily assessment of patient’s general condition and breathing
- ▪ Frequent suctioning of tracheostomy tube under aseptic conditions to prevent obstruction
- ▪ Nebulization with inhalational bronchodilators and inhalational steroids to reduce tracheostomy tube secretions
- ▪ Control of endotracheal tube related infections
- ▪ Diagnosis and management of tracheostomy tube related infections
- ▪ Constant lookout for complications related to tracheostomies like obstruction, tracheal stenosis, tracheal fistula and pneumothorax
